monkey gurl
2 months ago, we bought Charlotte the most adorable monkey outfit, complete with monkey eared hat!
Here she is, happy as can be at about 10/11 weeks old wearing said outfit.
She does not seem to like hats. Disappointing.
She eventually got used to it even if only long enough for me to run to the bathroom and take a full length pic, little monkey feets and all.
Atten-pup!
Charlotte has been spending some time in her Bumbo seat. She’s easily movable while she’s in it and it’s helping her to sit up straight.
I was cooking dinner the other night and put her on the floor near the cupboard. She’s far enough away that she won’t get splattered with anything but close enough that I can grab her if she starts crying.
She’s sitting there, babbling away so I turned to put whatever I was cooking on the stove and she got real quiet and let out another one of those little giggles…
Otis was checking to make sure she had her rattle to keep her occupied.
The dogs know that they will get the scraps at some point while I am cooking.
They only get scraps if they SIT…so, upon seeing me watching the two of them Otis sat. That action called the rest of the dogs into the kitchen.
Otis knows that they must look at me to get a treat (I have a suspicion that Charlotte does too)
Diamonds vs Puppies
I’d like to put to rest the rumor that diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
Otis usually naps on the far corner of the play mat while we do tummy time. Here he is yesterday, sound asleep after annihilating a paper towel while Charlotte practices her surfer girl stance during tummy time.
Today, however, Otis woke up. He woke up and ever so slowly, as to not frighten this little baby that he loves so much, inched his way closer and closer to Charlotte as she squealed in delight.
I’m glad I had the presence of mind to snap some pictures. This was a first so I wanted to have my hands free just in case which I why there is no video. 🙁
Check out her little hand on his paw.
I am so annoyed that out of all the pictures the following is the one that blurred up on me. I swear they were looking at each other, dead in the eye.
I am positive that there will be no separating these two as she grows up.
Explaining the website (plus a pic & video)
Long story short…Shutterfly only has so much space for pictures & video, Facebook has too many unknowns and making sure that we grab everyone on an email can be difficult, so we decided to set up a website for Charlotte and her family and friends on the back end of my website a/k/a blog.
This post is an example of the first blog post. Some of the posts will be current, some from the past as I can tell you more of what was going on along with the picture or video.
I work from home, so when she’ s not sleeping she’s entertaining herself in her jumparoo, doing some tummy time, playing on the soft floor mat or in this case, just lounging in her crib.
This is what she is usually doing when I set her in the crib with the boppy pillow holding her in position while she sits:
My desk is directly next to her crib, so when I sit her in there, all I have to do is glance over when I check on her. The last time I looked at her, she was in the original position I put her in…sitting up straight in the boppy, playing with her plush doll…I heard this funny little giggle and there she was:
