Mini gingerbread houses

Look what I found at Bed, Bath and Beyond!

Charlotte carried this box around the entire store and we rushed home to make them. Screw nap time. The excitement to make these was too much for her. I bought a big one for her to make closer to Christmas.

The houses came shrink wrapped in 2 sets. You had to carefully break apart the pieces then follow the instructions on the back of the box. Only one house had a broken piece and I think it was due to the way I opened the box.

Charlotte enjoyed taking all the candy out of the bags. She had no idea until she was done decorating that the candy was edible. The gingerbread was quite tasty too.

They also included a bag of royal icing. She had to be quick otherwise it hardened too fast and I had to put more icing on the houses.

She liked lining up the candy and sorting it before she placed a piece on a house.

Eventually,  Lysander wanted to see what she was doing. .. so he got a house to play with as well

He decided it was more fun to destroy and eat.

Some quick, less than a minute each,  video clips:

I realize that I’ve shoved my phone in Charlotte’s face almost daily over the past year to take pictures and videos and sometimes the flash is on. Said flash can be a bit bright, which would make anyone flinch but Charlotte seems to have learned to anticipate the power of the flash before she smiles.

Date: March 5, 2o14. She is approaching 14 months and he is officially 3 weeks old.
